Information You Send
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the result. Placentia Residents Directory does not keep a copy of that query on its own servers. If you send a message, the reply mailbox receives the details included in that message and uses them to answer it.
Routine Technical Logs
Hosting systems may record an IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. Those logs are reviewed in aggregate for service health and page use. Basic analytics or advertising measurement may also use cookies or similar tools where enabled.
How the Data Is Used
The purposes are limited to running the reference, fixing faults, measuring traffic, and improving pages. Visitor lists are not sold, and individual user profiles are not built here.
External Portals and Tools
Links lead to county and state record systems, libraries, archives, and sponsored search tools. The destination provider's privacy policy controls anything submitted there, including information entered into a sponsored results box.
Who May Receive It
Hosting and technical service providers may process the ordinary server logs described above. Analytics or advertising partners may receive automatic technical data. Disclosure occurs when valid legal process requires it, and not for unrelated purposes.
Security and Retention
The connection is encrypted, and logs are retained only as long as the uses above call for them. Because there are no visitor accounts, this site does not hold a password or user profile to expose.
Visitors Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. Personal information is not knowingly collected from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information, contact us so it can be reviewed and deleted.
California Privacy Choices
California's CCPA and CPRA, including Civil Code ยง1798.100 et seq., can provide rights to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, use Global Privacy Control, and limit certain sensitive-information uses, subject to exceptions. Since this site keeps little data, a request normally means checking the contact mailbox and applicable logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Public records held by California, Orange County, or Placentia offices remain under their custodianship; a request about an official deed, case, or roll must go to that office.

Revisions will be posted here. Continued use after a revision indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
